The Michelin Guide's review
Designed by Diego de Siloé and built by Vandelvira, this is one of the finest examples of Andalucian religious architecture from the Renaissance period. Behind the main façade decorated with relief work and statues is the sumptuous interior. The vaulting in the single aisle is blue, embellished with gold. The presbiterio is by Vandelvira, as is the Sacristy, an architectural wonder. The church was to become a mausoleum for Francisco de los Cobos, secretary to Charles V and patron of the arts.
