Helen Keller Birthplace
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The charming Virginia-style cottage called Ivy Green was the birthplace of Helen Keller (1880-1968). Stricken blind and deaf as a child, Keller learned to sign, talk and write with help from her teacher, Annie Sullivan. The house showcases a custom-made Braille watch, writing tools and other mementos of Keller's extraordinary life. Keller eventually graduated from Radcliffe College and went on to champion the cause of hearing- and sight-impaired people around the world.
