The Michelin Guide's review
The historic quarter of Troyes, with its characteristic champagne cork shape, was divided into two districts in the Middle Ages: the Cité (aristocratic and ecclesiastical) around the cathedral and the Bourg (bourgeois and commercial). Along its narrow streets today, visitors can admire the town's wonderfully preserved architectural heritage which includes half-timbered houses, private mansions and superb stained-glass windows.
