The Michelin Guide's review
With its gabled houses built so closely together that a cat could easily jump from one rooftop to the next, this street has an atmosphere that is very much medieval in feel. Notice the posts at the entrance to it, preventing the wheels of carts from hitting the walls. Like most of the other streets in the town, it was closed with a portcullis in the evening. An alleyway to the left leads to the Cour du Mortier d'Or, a courtyard whose beautiful architecture has been rebuilt using old construction features.
