The Michelin Guide's review
In 1997 this former quarry in the middle of the forest became the setting for a unique project to build a castle using the technical means of the 13C. No bulldozers or lorries: instead, horse- and ox-drawn carts laden with stone, wood and sand. No cranes; instead the ingenious lifting systems of the time. Stonemasons, blacksmiths and carpenters all work according to traditional methods. The stone-cutting workshop will interest children in particular.
