The beautiful Gothic church dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St Giles dominates the northern part of town. Its status as the property of the Augustine monastery for many years meant that it belonged to one of the greatest cultural trends of Bohemia. The presbytery and the cloisters have managed to retain their attractive murals and, above all, a wonderful carved Madonna, which dates from the early 15C.
