  The Michelin Guide's review
From the mid-16C, the originally Medieval castle was turned into a Renaissance residence by the Rožmberk family, with the help of architect Domenico Cometa. After passing through countless hands, it was acquired by the Schwarzenbergs in 1660. Located in the south-west of the town, the castle has an outer courtyard planted extensively with trees and an inner courtyard. The tour includes a visit of the Renaissance-style rooms and the private apartments of the Schwarzenbergs in the 19C.
