The Michelin Guide's review
Home to the Supreme Court of Ontario, this stately Neoclassical edifice was enclosed by wrought-iron fencing in 1867. Begun in 1829, the hall initially consisted of only the east wing. Damaged by troops quartered there after Mackenzie's rebellion, the building was restored in 1844 and later extended. Beneath a rectangular glass roof, the interior courtyard induces admiration, as does the magnificent Great Library.
