The Michelin Guide's review
Tignes Dam, 180m high, overlooks the Isère River in the Tarentaise Valley. The massive post-War project was inaugurated in 1953. It sports a huge (18,000m²) fresco, depicting a giant, although now partly faded. The dam formed Lake Chevril, which lies in a hollow, framed by mountains.
