Le Tévelave is the gateway to the "Grande Forêt des Hauts". Access to this charming town is via the impressive Tamarins forest road (RF9), which begins after the Domaine des Fougères and connects with the Maïdo road (RF8). Magnificent landscapes of trees and flowers can be seen all along its route, which is also dotted with fine viewpoints of the coast. As a result of landslides following the cyclones in 2018, a section of the road is blocked off to traffic.
