The Michelin Guide's review
To the east of Akan National Park is Lake Mashu, formed in the caldera of a volcano and overlooked by the mountain of the same name. With a 20km circumference and over 200m deep, its cliff-like walls slope steeply down towards translucent waters creating an absolutely impressive sight. While it is not possible to go all the way around the lake, three viewpoints allow you to admire (from afar) its constantly renewed beauty. Be sure to bring your binoculars! There's just one drawback: it's a tourist trap.
