The Michelin Guide's review
The façade of the Church of San Francisco Javier on Plaza Hidalgo is the epitome of churrigueresque art, designed by architect Ildefonso Iniesta and completed in 1762. Pilasters, or estípites, frame the motifs of this reredos in grey limestone featuring the order's major figures engulfed in prodigious swirls of stone.
