Obadjiwan - Fort-Témiscamingue National Historic Site
Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
In 1679, the French established a fur trading post, quickly abandoned however on this site. A second post was erected in 1720, and remained active for nearly two centuries, changing hands several times from the North West Company to the Hudson's Bay Company. The site offers a glimpse of life at a fur-trading post from the 17C to the 19C and also covers the Algonquin presence on the site. There is a period store and a film on the work of the "Trappers".
