The Michelin Guide's review
Santa Prisca is one of the most touching churches in the country. Clearly designed to grab your attention from all angles, it looks from afar to be amidst the roofs. Between 1748 and 1758 José de la Borda used his almost unlimited means and the workers from his mines to build this "devout man's whim" in which some great artists participated. Cayetano de Siguenza, the archbishop of Mexico City's personal architect, and painter Miguel Cabrera helped to complete this quintessentially homogeneous church in ten years.
