The Michelin Guide's review
Partially pedestrianised, the long Square of the Roses is where most of the city's shops and architecturally interesting edifices are located, notably masterpieces of the Secessionist movement. Note the 1905 Administrative Palace, with its distinctive high bell tower and polychrome-tiled roof, and the grandiose Palace of Culture. The Baroque Toldalagi palace houses the Museum of Ethnography and Folk art. To the north, the 1930 Orthodox cathedral is neo-Byzantine in style.
