The Brihadishvara Temple (11C) in Tanjore is a magnificent testament to the power and refinement of the Cholas and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An important example of Dravidian architecture, the temple boasts a 13-storey tower-sanctuary (vimana) which stands at a height of 60m.
