The Michelin Guide's review
On the edge of the village of Tangyue, in the heart of the rice fields, seven commemorative arches known as paifang form a curious sight. These were built by the Bao family, who dedicated them to their ancestors and members of the family. In addition to the paifang, which they obviously felt were not sufficient to express their devotion, the Bao, famous salt merchants, built two temples in memory of their ancestors, in 1802 and 1805. One of these is the only temple in China to be completely dedicated to women.
