Qiao Family Mansion
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Built under the reign of the emperor Qianlong, the Qiao mansion (9 000m2) became famous as a result of the movie Wives and Concubines, which was filmed behind closed doors in the rooms of this miniature city. Around 20 courtyards and 300 rooms bear witness to the refinement of Qing architecture. The residence has been converted into a Museum of Popular Traditions, displaying extremely beautiful pieces of traditional furniture, clothing, embroidered fabrics and lacquerwork.
