The Michelin Guide's review
In 1534, Jacques Cartier heard tales of fabulous riches in the kingdom of Saguenay. Although the upper Saguenay is now very industrialised, the lower region has remained wild and unspoilt, with its splendid river and hidden villages. The majestic Saguenay Fjord is one of the longest gorges in the world, with vertiginous cliffs and an exceptional marine environment and is home to two natural parks - the Saguenay Fjord National Park and the Saguenay-St-Laurent.
