Székesfehérvár Cathedral
Michelin Guide
Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
The cathedral was built in the 18C with aid from Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria, on the foundations of a medieval Gothic church, parts of which can still be seen. The tomb of Bela III and his wife can be admired in the crypt. Of particular interest in the sanctuary are the frescoes of Johann Cymbal, the main altar by Vincenz Fischeraux and the altar with Corinthian columns by Franz Anton Hillebrandt.
