The Michelin Guide's review
The descent of the gorges begins at the foot of Mount Macelowa (802m). The peaks of the Tatras range quickly come into view. Some 6km further on you enter the gorges, whose sheer cliffs are heaven for climbers. The gorges stretch for 3km as the crow flies, but seven long meanders multiply their distance three-fold. The riverbed suddenly narrows as you reach a 10m-deep spot called the "Leap of Janosik" (a legendary Robin Hood highwayman figure).
