The Michelin Guide's review
Inside the oldest temple in Suzhou, founded in the year 238, the 76m-high Buddhist North pagoda, dating from the Ming dynasty, is made up of 8 storeys and offers the best view of the centre of Suzhou, with its grey tiled roofs and low houses. Nearby, the silk museum displays an interesting collection of old weaving machines, as well as a chronological presentation of the development of the silk industry.
