  The Michelin Guide's review
Built in the 13C and then rebuilt in the second half of the 15C, this castle, the largest in the Czech Republic, has an eventful history. Hussite general Jan Žižka lost an eye here in 1421. This huge building impresses visits with its 3km of ramparts and its 60m-deep well, as well as its excellent condition. Enjoy superb views of the surrounding countryside from the top of the keep.
