The Michelin Guide's review
Together with the adjacent Hualapai reservation, this tribal grant includes lands along the South Rim of the western Grand Canyon. The village of Supai, site of the Havasupai tribal center, is at the bottom of the Canyon, where the Havasupai have lived at least since the 16C. Several hundred tribal members continue to farm the fertile bottomlands and provide basic tourism services. Accessible only by foot, mule or helicopter, Supai has a small tourist lodge, a restaurant, several shops and a post office. Visitors can see the farms and livestock areas kept along Havasu Creek by the Havasupai, and hike a mile or two to several beautiful and distinctive turquoise-colored waterfalls pouring out of steep cliffs.
