Take the time to watch the "Volcans des Antilles" documentary, which is extremely well made, with beautiful camerawork and an informative commentary. The building itself, a long white parallelepiped, was designed in line with cutting-edge anti-seismic techniques: it stands on a circular barrel and a series of pillars and the floor is upheld by elastomer, synthetic rubber.
