The Michelin Guide's review
For nearly ten centuries, this striking basilica, a shrine housing one of the fingers of St Nicholas, has attracted pilgrims and visitors to Saint-Nicolas-de-Port. Its huge size is worthy of a cathedral - one of its towers is higher than those of Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris! Admire the lovely Flamboyant west front, the nave covered with lierne and tierceron vaulting, and the remarkable stained-glass windows (1507-10) in the apse and side aisle, where the Renaissance influence can already be felt.
