The Michelin Guide's review
Clasping the Seine river, this forest is a remnant of the ancient Laye woods. A succession of changes has reduced its surface area to 3,500 hectares. But the hunting lodges, crossroads, gates and stretches of forest pathways serve to keep the old forest's feel intact. Oak, beech and hornbeam abound. The flat terrain is great for hikers, who can choose from 120 km of pathways and 60km of riding trails.
