Noue quarter

The Michelin Guide's review
This attractive suburb of Saint-Dizier was once frequented by boatmen delivering their wood to Paris by floating their timber rafts on the Marne. They lived in low houses made from cob and only accessible on foot due to their location in the 80 tiny streets (voyottes) perpendicular to Avenue de la République. A stroll along the banks of the Marne is particularly pleasant and relaxing.
