Near the entrance to the university, is an isolated room displaying crafts and memorabilia of the early Highland pioneers. The hall is devoted to clan history and life and displays a collection of tartan fabrics and costumes. At one end of the hall stands a statue of Angus MacAskill (1825-63), the 236cm-tall, 193kg "Cape Breton giant" who toured the US with the midget Tom Thumb.
