The Michelin Guide's review
The handsome edifice that has dominated Plaza de la Constitución for over 400 years also bears the scars of its troubled past! Built in 1599 by order of the Governor of St Augustine, it was successively the governor's official residence, victim of a fire during the British siege and a law court. Government House, now restored to what it looked like in the 1930s, is home to a small museum devoted to the town and its inhabitants.
