Dedicated to Frisian navigation, the Fries Scheepvaart Museum boasts a fine collection of model boats used in the 18C and 19C, reconstructed interiors of pleasure boats, paintings, workshops for making masts and sails, and navigation instruments. There is also a section dedicated to sailing and other activities, notably ice-skating and the Elfstedentocht ("11 Cities Tour").
