The Michelin Guide's review
The Haida Gwaii museum is a centre of art and culture made up of five longhouses and six huge poles. It is devoted to transmitting and teaching the Haida culture through natural history exhibits and native arts and crafts, including argillite carvings and totem poles. The next-door Canoe House showcases the stunning Loo Taas, an ornate 15m/50ft hand-crafted dugout canoe produced according to Haida traditions for Expo '86 in Vancouver.
