The Michelin Guide's review
These gardens, which illustrate marvellously the art of landscaped gardens, were laid out in the early 1930s by Vita Sackville-West and her husband, Harold Nicholson. She used the tower of the fine Tudor residence as her office. It is a delight to see the various gardens, each with a different colour, scents and planting design, or to stroll around the paths overflowing with flowers and come across a statue as you emerge from a copse.
