The Michelin Guide's review
Three large buildings on the bank of the fjord house the country's largest maritime museum, which brings to life the golden age of the herring industry in Siglufjörður. The reconstruction of the port is striking, and plunges visitors into the atmosphere of the 1930s-1950s, as does Róaldsbrakki, the building where fishermen lived at that time. You can also board the Týr SK 33, a 38-tonne ship from 1946, decommissioned in 1988, and visit the Grána factory, reinvented to perfection.
