  The Michelin Guide's review
From the red rock of Sigiriya, King Kasyapa the Patricide created a citadel, a capital, a palace and a hanging garden at an altitude of 200m/660ft. Set off early to make the ascent up to this eyrie built in the 5C, climbing over a thousand steps. Highlights include the Damsel Fresco and the panoramic view over the terraced gardens. Wonderful!
