  The Michelin Guide's review
The Valley of a Thousand Lingam is an atypical spot that exudes the sacred and the holy. It was in the 11C that several sets of lingam and yoni were carved right out of the river bed over 200m/650ft, possibly by hermits living near the sacred mountains. The carvings seem to be devoted to the cult of Shiva, lord of the Mountain and regenerative god.
