The Michelin Guide's review
Neak Pean Temple, built in the shape of a lotus flower, stands in what was once the water reservoir of Preah Khan on a manmade island. Four square pools frame a central water feature in which a tower stands. The concentric rings at the base depict entwined naga, whose heads emerge from the water. A statue of the mythical horse, Balaha, said to have risen from the water to save sailors from drowning, stands to the east.
