The Michelin Guide's review
With the immense Preah Khan and surprising Neak Pean, Ta Som is the third temple built to the north of Angkor Thom by Jayavarman VII at the turn of the 12C and 13C. The iconic "tower of faces" and bas-reliefs are both characteristic of the "builder-king's" distinctive style. In the rear of the temple, near the outer wall, you'll notice a strangler fig encircling the remains of the eastern gopura with its powerful roots... to the delight of selfie enthusiasts.
