  The Michelin Guide's review
Just as impressive as its neighbour Sukhothai, the historic city of Si Satchanalai (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990) suddenly appears out of the forest on the right bank of the River Mae Nam Yom. In a more peaceful setting than Sukhothai, it contains the magnificent remains of a number of temples, such as Wat Chang Lom and Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo, which can be identified by their bell-shaped chedi. The main access to this historic city is via the Pratu Dom Laem gate.
