The Michelin Guide's review
Similar to the one in Sukhothai, this Sri Lankan-style bell-shaped chedi in the middle of the temple rests on a base supported by 36 elephants, which give the temple its name Wat Chang Lom. Despite the inscription which attributes the temple to King Rama Khamhaeng (late 13C), archaeological excavations have shown that the temple was actually built in the 15C.
