The Michelin Guide's review
In 1915 Abbé Joseph-Arthur Laporte placed a statue of Christ at this spot, 360m/1,181ft above the Saint-François River. A simple stone chapel was con-structed in 1920. Today many pilgrims find their way here seeking peace and tranquillity, and to enjoy the panorama of the Sherbrooke area. In the woods behind the chapel and the newer church (1945) is the Gospel Walk, consisting of eight sculptures representing scenes from the life of Christ. These stone sculptures were carved by Joseph Guardo. In summer, mass is celebrated in an outdoor chapel, which accommodates 1,600 pilgrims.
