The Michelin Guide's review
The superb Temple of the Jade Buddha (1924), with its yellow ochre walls and widely curved roofs typical of the Song Dynasty, is one of the most active Buddhist temples in Shanghai. It houses two precious jade statues of the Enlightened one that were from Burma in the 19C and are a focal point for pilgrims. The first presents a reclining Buddha with a finely carved tunic, the second a seated Buddha 1.90m tall. Vegetarian restaurant.
