The Michelin Guide's review
From the lookout point (alt. 1,007m), it is clear how this pass marks the climatic border between the island's two slopes. To the north are clouds, which can rise off the ocean in a few minutes, suddenly filling the atmosphere with humidity, while to the south unfolds a vision of blue cloudless skies and tropical sunshine. Continue alongside the Levada do Norte into an amazing region covered in blue and white flowers (clethras, hydrangeas, agapanthus, chrysanthemums, etc.).
