Pura Batu Bolong

 Michelin Guide
 Religious monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
This modest yet charming sanctuary comprises altars and pagodas running along a rocky curved promontory above the sea, from which it derives its name (batu bolong means "hewn rock"). Across the water lies Bali, with the summit of Mount Agung punctuating the horizon, a delightful sight at sunset... Legend has it that maidens were sacrificed here (thrown to the sharks).
