The Michelin Guide's review
Sées's Gothic cathedral, built in the 13C and 14C, dominates the episcopal city and surrounding plains. Inside, note the large arches of the nave, the chancel and the transept lit by magnificent stained-glass and rose-windows of the late 13C. The fine marble high altar, dating from Louis XVI's time (1754-1793), is the work of Brousseau, the diocesan architect. It features a gilt-bronze bas-relief depicting the Entombment.
