The Michelin Guide's review
Ancient forests, waterfalls, lakes, alpine meadows and glacial peaks from 2 000m to 2 800m, not to mention 300 glaciers - half of those in the US outside of Alaska - are the attractions of this 2 770km2 park inhabited by endangered species such as grizzly bears and pumas. The visitor centre shows films and exhibitions on the flora and fauna, and provides information on activities. A boardwalk trail leads to a lookout, where the view reaches over Pinnacle Peak (2 074m).
