The Michelin Guide's review
The monumental Seckau Abbey is a majestic sight, nestled at the foot of the Niedere Tauern mountains. The part-Romanesque nave of the basilica was built with alternating piers, columns with huge square capitals and rich Gothic network vaulting. Various chapels house interesting works of art, including a 12C Venetian alabaster Madonna and Child, the altarpiece in one of the chapels, the Mausoleum of Karl II, and a Crucifixion group which is very moving in its simplicity.
