The Michelin Guide's review
At a summit height of 386m, this isolated peak recalls in its name Chronos (Saturn for the Romans), the god of time. According to legend, Daedalus tried to collect the boiling steam coming from fissures in the rocks. The mountain is famous for its hot steam "rooms", natural caves with hot steam issuing forth, coming from a layer of spa water right underneath. The best known are those of San Calogero, situated at the summit.
