The Michelin Guide's review
The cathedral of Sarzana has a magnificent retable in finely sculpted marble from 1432 by Riccomani. In the chapel to the left of the chancel there is an arresting crucifix, a masterpiece of Romanesque painting, Guglielmo of Lucca in 1138. Finally, in a chapel to the right of the chancel, there is a preserved phial said to contain the blood of Christ.
