The Michelin Guide's review
Archaeological excavations of this plateau have revealed no fewer than 170 monolithic structures, which lie dispersed across the scrubland. The Stantari standing stones have a total of eleven menhirs, including the most famous statue menhirs in Corsica, depicting armed figures with their long swords in relief. At the foot of Punta Cauria you will discover a group of some 40 menhirs, the Renaju standing stones. Lastly, the Portal Tomb of Fontanaccia, the most instantly recognisable of the Corsican portal tombs, comprises six vertical pillars supporting the granite entablature.
